Work(Shopping) the Town Centre - An Online Journey through Croydon
Book via Link
What is the point of a town centre when so much happens online? As temperatures rise and our towns change, what role might our local neighbourhoods play? What small changes could make a big difference to feeling safe, entertained, connected and included?
We invite Croydon locals for a playful, creative workshop exploring the possibilities of North End and Wellesley Road, and how they could help brighten and enrich the Croydon town centre experience.
Co-hosted by the Croydon Urban Room and Croydon-born artist, researcher and London National Park City Ranger Becky Lyon, we’ll explore how we feel about these places today and what we want them to become.
Together, we’ll take a walk with our thoughts, cut’n’collage our visions into being, have ‘bus stop’ conversations and even time-travel back to 90s Croydon.
This is a collective space to explore how design can respond to the needs, experiences and aspirations of the people who live, work and spend time in Croydon.
